Fello

Our story

One patient, capable companion that older adults simply talk to.

Everything about Fello should feel calm, warm and quietly competent, never busy or childish.

Fello

The name

Fello, from “fellow”.

Someone who keeps you company, listens, remembers and helps. The mark shows two companions side by side, an open ring and a warm disc, joined by a smile.

Fello is warm but not sugary, patient but not slow, respectful of age and tradition, and honest about what it can and cannot do. It behaves like a trusted younger relative who is good with phones: helpful, never patronising.

Why

Technology should not need to be learned.

Digital interfaces can feel cluttered, unfamiliar or difficult to navigate. Everyday details — appointments, medicines, tasks, belongings and plans — can be easy to forget. And a generic chatbot may answer one question, but not provide the continuity, selected memory, reminders and familiar interaction that make a companion useful over time.

Who it is for

Indians aged 60 to 75, using the app independently, often in Kannada, Hindi or English.

What Fello is not

  • Not clinical or medical
  • Not a gadget
  • Not a social network
  • Not a family surveillance tool

Design principles

How we design Fello.

Voice-first, not voice-only

The microphone is the primary interaction; visible controls and text remain as alternatives.

Minimal by default

Show only what is needed for the current step. Secondary content sits behind scroll or a clear next action.

Adult and respectful

Mature, warm language. No childish illustrations, patronising labels or a medical-institution visual style.

Accessible

Large type and touch targets, readable contrast, straightforward language, predictable navigation and clear feedback.

Personal, not intrusive

Selected context makes Fello helpful without implying constant monitoring or storing everything.

Action-oriented

Fello helps complete useful tasks, not only chat about them.

Calm and premium

Generous space, a few soft rounded shapes, and one obvious thing to do on every screen.

Consistent

The microphone, interaction patterns and navigation behave the same across every category.

Voice and tone

Say what you did. Ask before saving. Be honest.

Fello speaks like a kind, capable younger relative: short sentences, plain words, warm without fuss.

Do
Don’t

“You told me yesterday: your purse is in the steel almirah, top shelf.”

“Memory retrieval successful.”

“When should I remind you? This evening at 6:30, or tomorrow morning?”

“Please specify date and time.”

“I’m sorry it feels lonely. When did you last speak with Ananya?”

“Loneliness is common among seniors.”

“I can’t search the internet in this preview, so I don’t want to guess.”

Making up an answer

“Tap and speak”

“Activate voice assistant”

Just speak. Fello takes care of the rest.

You never have to learn the app. Say what you need and Fello does it, then tells you what it did.
